About The Festival

In its 22nd year, the Heritage Festival will yet again be the meeting grounds for over 4,000 attendees and over one hundred vendors from across Boston’s metrowest region. This weekend-long celebration commemorates the vast array of ethnicities and cultures, as well as the rich history of Marlborough and the surrounding communities.

Come this September, downtown Marlborough will be revitalized with a breath of fresh air that will be the 2017 Heritage Festival. Starting off with a state-of-the-art laser show on Freedom Friday, Marlborough will be the place to be all weekend long throughout the duration of Unity Day and Celebration Sunday!

Event Overview

The 2017 Heritage Festival will be spread across downtown Marlborough over three days with three stages of live music, variety of vendors and food offered throughout!

The catalyst to the three-day celebration with live music in the gazebo, street vendors and a state-of-the-art laser show alongside the beautiful Frank D. Walker Building.

The Walker building will be illuminated and utilized as the perfect starting block for this year’s celebrations! With no entrance fee necessary, this day will be centered around the community of Marlborough and will remind everyone just how beautiful this city is. There will be family fun for everyone including street vendors, live music and lasers!

From delicious eats and beverages to the live music taking place throughout the festival grounds, this day will have it all. Including an interactive walk through the history of Marlborough ending with a rooftop celebration in unity at the recreated historic Williams Tavern.

Walk hand-in-hand with friends, family and fellow festival-goers along our E.P.C.O.T. style “Heritage Trail” complete with a stage for cultural acts. Enjoy the wide array of vendors lined down Main Street with lots of family friendly attractions. The Vin Bin will be holding their annual cheese and wine festival to indulge in. As the early evening sets in, Unity Day will segway onto the rooftop where the community will come together to experience the centerpiece of this year’s festivities!

Preservation of the core attractions that have been bringing the community together for its 22nd year in a row! You don’t want to miss this year’s Main St Mile or Chili-Chowder Cookoff that will be moving onto the big stage!

The roots of the Heritage Festival lie as a single-day community celebration that was so well attended that it created a demand for expansion. During any expansion it is crucial to preserve the core. So just like years in the past, the Main Street Mile and  Chili-Chowder Challenge will yet again make their appearance in this year’s Celebration Sunday along with street vendors, music, and most importantly, good times!
